Microzide is a thiazide diuretic that helps the kidneys to control the amounts of fluid within the human body and remove the extensive amounts. Its most common use in the modern medicine is high blood pressure treatment, alone or in a drug combination.
During a Microzide treatment regimen, especially on its first stages, you are likely to urinate a lot more often than usual. You may want to try adjusting your ingestion shedule and taking the medication before 6 P.M. so that this factor does not disturb your sleep. If your doctor considers you are losing potassium with your urine, you will be prescribed a potassium supplement. Do not try to add it to your regimen by your own will or alter your diet to include more potassium-rich products without consulting your healthcare provider first.
The most frequent Microzide side effects are dizziness, blurred vision and feeling light-headed. They are largely increased by hot weather, consuming alcohol beverages, exercise or fever. Try to avoid these factors as much as possible. At the first sign of side effects becoming active lie down and have some rest. Also remember, that Microzide makes it easier for our skin to be sunburned. If you must be outside in sunny weather, wear sunscreen lotion and cover as much skin as possible and, naturally, avoid sunlamps and tanning beds while you are on this drug.
